*** We are growing - join our team! ***

Hi, I'm John Murray, I lead the team here.
Murray Therapy is a progressive leader providing child-centered occupational therapy services for children birth through 12 years. We believe that every child should have the self-confidence, strength and skills they need to live their fullest life. And we provide the hope to make that happen. By listening carefully and working tirelessly with parents and their children, we empower positive change for today and tomorrow.
A bit about myself, I'm a graduate of Colorado State University, with over 40 years of pediatric occupational therapy experience. I founded Murray Therapy, blending my experiences in early intervention with a family-centered focus and an ongoing pursuit for community outreach.
I have specialty training in Sensory Processing Disorders and a certificate in Pediatric Neuro-Developmental Treatment. My colleagues are carefully selected to bring their own strengths to the practice, ensuring a common family-supported approach and a range of complementary teachings.
My wife Michelle (also a pediatric OT) and I have run our private practice in Fort Collins for a quarter of a century. We are the proud parents of 3 sons, Riley, Logan and Aidan.
My favorite motto is one my patients hear and I try to put into daily practice, "Go the Extra Mile!"
If you're looking for an occupational therapist team who desires to partner with your whole family to make the best life for your child, look no further. We look forward to meeting you.

Why Occupational Therapy?
Occupational therapy looks at every activity and interaction an individual has on a daily basis, and finds ways to make it all flow together more smoothly.
Think about every activity you do every day, all the interactions you have with others, and all the steps in between. That is what occupational therapists do. We consider each individual’s physical and mental abilities, behaviors, and performance of activities that happen each day and how we can work together to improve upon any area that may be difficult. When that individual has a diagnosis or a difficulty with a task or behavior, we come up with new ways to approach it and improve their quality of life.
As occupational therapists in the pediatric world, it is our duty to guide children and their families to better understand their sensory environment and how to develop strategies to make those interactions more enjoyable. We help make play, getting dressed, writing, social skills, and processing emotions better for the child.
The importance of occupational therapy is not only with the child but with their family unit. We focus on the child’s roles as a student, sibling, friend, and child. Their routines at home, school, and during playtime. Most importantly their behaviors and interactions with their family and environments. In addition, we look at the caregiver’s roles, routines, and interactions with their child or children.
We are holistic, focusing on the mind, body, and spirit and consider the sensory needs of every child to better their interactions in life.
