The sensory bag exercises assist with touch desensitization, discrimination and body awareness. Ideal for the childe whose body is not able to process touch input without overreacting or being overstimulated. By completing this activity once a day for 30 days, this reaction will diminish. The child's nervous system will learn how to react to new touch input without causing dysregulation by more exposure.
This activity targets your child’s:
Sense of touch and body awareness
Crossing over the middle of the body
Allowing the touch system to be less sensitive
Social play with others
Self-confidence
It helps with:
Building self-esteem
Increasing positive social interactions
Improving attention
Enhancing motor skills
Controlling emotions
Transitions during the game
Becoming the boss of their own body & needs!
EVERYONE can play along, however, it is best for those with:
Sensitivity to touch, sound, sight
Difficulty differentiating touch
Problems with finger and hand skills
To get started, obtain the tools in the photo: a rubber spiky ball like one used in laundry, a scrubber brush (or a hairbrush, in a pinch), and a textured glove. Then download the instructions below.
