Importance of Routines

We wanted to share a common theme that has come up as we have done tele-health sessions. During our sessions, we have had the opportunity to learn more about families' home environment and routines. Through this, we are able to provide better insight into how we can change activities and/or interactions with others to improve your families' experiences while being at home.

As all of our schedules have changed, we have noticed routines have too. We want to emphasize how important it is to keep a structured routine for your whole family - especially your child with sensory processing difficulties. When we are able to review our schedule for the next day or week, we have a better idea of what is expected of ourselves. This is especially important for those children that already have a tough time understanding their own body's needs; we can eliminate some worry by providing a consistent routine.
